Just a thought

November 9, 2008

Humans are not inherently, nor are they born good or evil. Humans are animals, born with only the instincts to survive.

Evil and good are nearly creations of man. Without man this world would have no understanding of good or evil, in fact their wouldn’t be any good or evil. In my opinion good and evil were created because they where needed in what we call civilization. Without a concept of good and evil humans would simply act like animals.

In a large group of people laws where created so that order was maintained. These laws where enforced by those in charge and the ones that broke these laws where considered bad and maybe even evil. I do not believe that a society, or the people in charge can say what is truly good or evil, for what is right and wrong is different for each person.

Sometimes what we consider evil is just a person acting on their instincts. I do not condone any wrong doings by anyone. And yes there are some people out their that are just truly messed up. However if this where the animal kingdom those would be the members that would be kicked out of the group.

I do believe that there is good and evil. It is impossible for it not to be for how long the concept has been around. We have grown up in a society that says there is good and evil and they try to tell us what is good and evil as if it where all black and white. However as we age we realize it is not that way. Black and white, good and evil? Does anyone actually believe that the world is as simple as black and white. If there is someone like that I’d like to meet them. Anyway I digress, I’m starting to ramble.

Nowhere else on this world but the human mind does good and evil exist. Take out the humans and look at the rest of the world. There is only survival, survival of the fittest. Is the fox that kills a rabbit or a chicken so that it can eat to see another day evil? The eagle that snatches up a fish from the water so that it can eat and perhaps feed its chick, is that evil? Is you cat that kills the mouse that used to live in your house evil?

Humans are animals, beings of nature that have gained a sense of self importance. We see ourselves as more then animals. But we can not get away from are base instincts. However society wishes us to suppress these instincts, however much we try we can not, they are their, there is nothing we can do about it. I am not saying that you should act on every impulse you have. Killing your neighbor because he’s made you mad, hurting someone because you are angry, these of course are a no-no. However we can’t just ignore these, so we need to find a way to get them out. Talk about it, find a creative solution, such as write a web comic, story, anything you like. Even though most of us don’t like to even think about it, those darkest desires, forbidden fantasies that we find our selves shocked we could even think such things, these things are real, they’re their. But the question is what do we do about them. Myself, I write them down, maybe a short story or just a thought, I bring them into a piece of art that I’m working about. Anyway I’m rambling once again so I well move on.

As it says on the top of the page these are just some of my thoughts, written down as I think about them, thus it may be a little hard to read. Take from this what you will I just simply wished to share some of my believes with you. I leave you with one more comment. Every day humans cut down tree after tree, destroy acre after acre looking for what is left of the Earth’s natural resources and precious jewels. All of it home to some creature. How many homes of animals have we destroyed to build are own homes and buildings? How many homes have we destroyed? How many creatures die and suffer because of us? How many ways of life have we endangered? Evil or just Darwinism on a grand scale?
